Benefits of YinI: One of the main reasons I chose to do YinI was a break from education. After aspiring to be a part of a business and from studying Economics at A Level, it seemed a natural choice to do a YinI once the opportunity arose. I wanted the year from education to benefit me in the long-term therefore nothing could be better than a years work experience. The YinI has given me the chance to explore many different areas of a business that I can never have learnt through education. I have experienced business life on a daily basis; challenging targets, day trips, communication and how teamwork is vital for success. All of this is great life experience prior moving into university life. Above all, the YinI allowed me to decide whether Marketing is the correct career choice for me before studying it at university. Metal Spinners Group: The Company Walking into Metal Spinners Group ten days after my final A Level exam was a quick turn around, and a wake-up call. Working full-time is a completely different environment to school or any previous part-time work I had taken part in. I soon realised my contribution to the business effected the whole team not just myself. The fast paced environment suits my personality and lives up to my expectations of the company. Through the YinI scheme you are given projects to complete through the year. Mine included: updating and maintaining the company website, re-creating the company DVD, cleansing the customer database, research on new companies and designing new, industry specific, inserts for the company brochure. Above all, Metal Spinners Group is a great place to work and everybody has been very friendly and welcoming as well as respecting me as an employee not just a YinI student. |
